In 1932-1934, after returning to the village of Jana-Turmys, he worked as a bookkeeper, and foreman of the field brigade of the collective farm "Jana-Talap". In 1933, during an epidemic of typhoid fever, all residents of Jailau, including the entire Mahlke family, died. Only two brothers, Alkhanbek and Nusup, survived. In the 1934-35 academic year, Alkhanbek Malkeev studied in Alma-Ata at a one-year training course for the heads of the political department of the radio station at Kaznarkomzeme.
